We got our store and we are moving in! On top of the fun of filling a store we also filled a nice drop shipment order for Chris's Hair Salon in Iron River Michigan. Say hey to the U.P.!
It all started with chess. My wonderful kids learned to play chess a couple of weeks before Christmas, as a result we set out to find my son and daughter a chess board they could have that wasn't made of glass. At the Five Below we found what seemed to be a great deal! A neon blue and green chess board, for my daughters favorite color is green and my son's favorite is blue. It was wrapped and under the tree in a flash! Come Christmas day with all the presents unwrapped and all over the place we decided to help them get their new chess board set up. To our dismay it was the saddest chess set I have seen to date. So not all of the pieces were there and the blue had three knights and only six pawns. They are lopsided and covered in the rough plastic edges of poorly made molds. As you might imagine we were a bit upset. Also for Christmas we had given our youngest a set of zombie and army men action figures. The zombies were cool but wouldn't stand up on their own. You may see where this is going. They just happened to be neon green and blue. So with a little bit of tinkering and gluing we made the world make sense again. In conclusion we made the best out of the not so great gifts we had bought. My army men never had strategy like this! And yes we brought this chess board back from the dead.
I am rethinking the mandolin and this is a good song to start with I think. Stay tuned for my version when I get comfortable with it.
Here are the scents we currently have in stock in no particular order.
Creating Great Gray Octopus was fun, and challenging. After Big Blue we wanted something a little bigger. I wanted to replace our easy up canopy tent with something a little more one of a kind. This thought process took me to strange places. Eventually leading us back to the Octopus. Naturally. We have plans for a third Octopus project for a later date. It may have to be bigger.... Great Gray Octopus Facts: -It took about 28 yards of fabric. -Approximately 25,000 feet of thread. -Over 2,000 recycled plastic grocery bags. -His eyes are made from can lighting that used to light up a giant organ in a church in Chicago. We are getting ready for the Steam Dream Expo at The Olde World Village. Steam Powered Giraffe inspiration has begun!
April hasn't been my favorite month for a few years now, but I am trying to remain as positive upbeat and focused on upcoming months of greatness. I have to pick and choose which festivals to attend this summer and fall. We need to finish and update our booth set up for this year and incorporate some of our new paintings and wares for the larger events. Not to mention the grand idea that is forming for this years Art Prize competition. So go team and soon to be our new LLC Candles By The Bunch!
Hello again, its been a while. To say that I had the flu would be just the start of about three months of not wellness. I am getting on my feet, with their cooperation or not. Determination is going to get me there. Off to the races again.....take two. This is about how I felt this morning! After a nice afternoon pulled together a triple batch of candles for a custom order, ready to paint tomorrow. This up coming year will see us at festivals and larger art fairs stay tuned for more details as we book up for this new year!
This little guy is still a work in progress. His tongue isn't quite finished, and the world he is in needs to be drawn and colored. I was just so excited about him, that I had to give him his colors as soon as I found him.
